60 miles trips to Long Beach, CA on Thanks giving dayMore like Seal Beach from the map. 61.71 miles to be exact. It helps to burn off some holiday weight prior to the big turkey dinner ... hehe~ (does it work that way?)
I haven't riden for a couple of weeks (partly due to schedule problem and partly due to the fact that I can't drag my lazy ass early enough to do some riding before my day begins), so, I decided to take advantage of the morning of Thanks giving holiday to spend some time on my 2 wheeler. First, I wanted to just curise around for a little bit. But when I was prep-ing my bike, I figure, why not take a longer ride ... "what the heck, let's do a trip to Long Beach ..."
About an hour later, here I am, parked my car somewhere along 605 and 10 (a little north of it) and get ready for my trip.
I think the trail is called "Coyote Creek Trail" (I remember seeing this somewhere along the way). It's along the San Gabrel River all the way to the coast of Long Beach. I wouldn't say this is the smoothest or cleanest trail I have been on (actually, both are pretty bad), but it got me to where I want to end up, so that's good enough. To tell you how bad it is. First, I am washing my bike today! Second, you will be able to find manure on the trail. Dirt, stones and sand are not a strange secene there (remember, we are taking about a trail for road bike). And the worst of all, there was a huge puddle of more-than-rim-deep of water that you have to go across right after a downhill slop ... I really hated it to put my bike through that ... but only if I have another choice. -_-
Anyway, I came across a park soon after I entered the City of Long Beach (I guess, hehe). What a good time to find a park! (cause I needed to go to the restroom ... hehe ;-)
Not long after the park, I finally came to the end of the trail. After 30 some miles of riding, I can see the ocean! The place if called River end something??

For some reason, there isn't much fast food around there?! (I guess rich people doesn't eat much fast food, hehe) So, I turned to Ralphs for a sandwitch and a soup. Man, those taste pretty good! (after 30 miles of head wind! you bet!)
The return trip after lunch was alright. Nothing I haven't seen on the way to there before. Just one stupid thing that I did, I lost my prescription glasses on the way back. I must have put them in my already-half-full back jersey pocket and they somehow find a way to get out ... This makes my 60 miles trip a little more expensive than I would like it to be (after adding the cost of replacing my lost glasses). After all, this is a fun trip. Oh well, since I like riding, I am basis anyway. haha~
Here is a map of my trip:
