I'll be honest.  If you don't like Guiness, I wouldn't suggest going to Ireland.  About the only good things about the place were the Paramount Hotel on Parliament Street and Essex Gate (the greatest hotel ever), the Glendalough area of Ireland, and the countryside.  That's about it...I would go back just to stay in the hotel and have some of those little orange-chocolate chunk cookies....ummm, cookies!

Glendalough....Beautiful walk around the lake, beautiful little town.
Here I am standing at the edge of a cliff.  This was nice, hilly country.  All that brownish looking stuff around me is a plant called "Heather".  The wind was blowing up my shirt at this time.
Here's the great hotel.  There is a night club across the street.  One night, I was awoken to drunk Americans and Irish singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart".  One morning, I was awoken to well over six dozen Guiness kegs being thrown into a hole in the sidewalk that went into the basement area of the same nightclub.  The Irish people have A PROBLEM!!
My room looked very similar to this.  Very nice, but no air conditioning, as goes for all of Europe for that matter.
This is the River Liffey, which flows through Dublin.  We stayed on the left side, if this picture (which I stole) is aimed the way I think it is.  Dublin doesn't have very many tall buildings.  This is about as tall as it gets.
