Iguanas

We we wondering about the noise coming from the trees in the first few days. Maria was the first to see an iguana lying lazy on a branch. We realized that it was not just one but a group of eight iguanas that were sharing the tree. They became active during lunch time and after few days they started to come closer - some of them even climbed down on the terrace.

Waterlemon Bay

Next trip was to Waterlemon Bay. The beach was a bit difficult to reach since you had to walk more than half a mile to get there. There was at least 5 boats from Puerto Rico and Florida tied together and people made quite a noise with music playing and generators running. So much for peace and tranquility.

Anyway, snorkeling was good and we saw some baby barracudas, a big turtle and a school of colorful fish. We swam all the way to a small island. There were strong currents going around the island but the north side of island had beautiful corals.

We saw two sharks swimming by on the beach and there was a mongoose trying to steal some food. The beach has no facilities so you need to walk back to Annaberg Point that has restrooms etc.

Saltpond Bay

Saltpond Bay is a remote beach at end of the road 107. It does not have any facilities but the beach is very nice. The corals were OK on the left side of the beach and we saw also an big octopus that was hiding beneath a rock.

There was 8 Iguanas in the trees altogether. We had also couple nice palm trees full of ripe coconuts.
