Trunk Bay

We woke up early on the following day, had a big breakfast and packed the car. The destination was Trunk Bay. We drove through the narrow streets of Cruz Bay and headed to the North Shore Road. The road went up and down the hills and there were some magnificent views on adjacent islands and bays along the road.

We managed to find a parking place (you have to get there early since the place can be quite full) at Trunk Bay and secured a spot on the beach under some trees that gave nice shade. Then it was to time to splash into the warm Caribbean waters.

The coral around the small rock has been damaged by the tourists and storms but we found quite nice place with corals and fish when snorkeling towards Jumbie Bay beach. Kari took some underwater pictures with a disposable camera. The section behind green and red buoy had a lot of coral. Mauri adventured all the way to the cliff between Jumbie Bay and Denis Bay but the place was not so good - a lot of dead coral and shallow points so you have to be careful not to hurt yourself.

We had a lunch at the beach  - there is a kiosk that serves hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks. After couple more hours of swimming and snorkeling it was time to go back.

Everybody was quite worn out after the hot day so when the sun set and we had dinner people were ready to go to bed.
