MAKING NEW CONNECTIONS
Brain Injury Support Group Meetings for 2006
August 23
Very small group met for a brief time of sharing and socializing. Fall should bring more people to the next meeting.
July 26

Twenty-three people and one beautiful baby gathered at the Feld farm to celebrate the Support Groups second anniversary. After a brief discussion of business and Smore roasting, we focused on letting go of painful memories. Some people brought items which represented their physical recovery such as body braces or pain medications. Others wrote down on note cards their painful thoughts, emotions, or individuals name and said good-bye by tossing it into the bonfire. Someone even made a wreath out of the bittersweet plant which represented their bittersweet recovery. The glow of the bonfire and the quiet country setting provide a very relaxing, peaceful atmosphere. Even a few whitetail deer were sighted in the distance. The meeting ended with a time of refreshments, socializing, and bonding. Many headed home with a feeling of cleansing and relief. It was a wonderful evening
