Apocalypso began in the fall of 1999, when Rob Armstrong got bored of his previous band (I won't mention any names). So he decided to get together with long-time cohort Dave Brencic, and drummer extraordinaire Matt Hartney. Apocalypso was one of the most talented bands in Stratford at the time, next to Satan's Laundry, of course.
The three musicians were coming from three different musical backgrounds. Rob: Yo-Yo Ma, Robbie Williams. Dave: Ice-T, Peter Frampton. Matt: Menudo, Hootie and the Blowfish. All of these influences shone out in their music, which came out sounding like a cross between Rush and a broken radiator.
There was one album recorded by Apocalypso, called Apocalypso. It featured seven of their favourite songs. It was recorded by an un-named Mexi-Nazi in St. Michaels Recording Studio. It took way too long, and by the end, the boys were fighting like a trio of drunks in front of any given bar in Stratford. Actually, the "fight" looked more like a couple of 12 year old girls swatting flies. It was pretty pathetic.
The boys had a trip across Canada planned, but it fell through when Dave realized he needed the money to go to school. After that, Rob got bored with them, and the band folded. Fuck you Armstrong!
