Step 1.
Students must break into groups of three students. There are three roles
needed to be filled in this webquest: mathematician, scientist, and an
explorer.
Step 2. Once the roles have been assigned, the following are the responsibilities of that role: The Pilot must be able to understand Bernoulli's Principle with regard to two characteristics:
The Scientist must understand Newton's 3rd Law with regard to:
The Mathematician must find Bernoulli's equation and be able to manipulate the following equations. On problem #4, Microsoft Equation Editor must be used. The other equations may be solved by hand, but must be solved neatly and on another sheet of paper. Step 3. Look through and research the various web sites given to find the information necessary for the various roles: http://www.aa.washington.edu/faculty/eberhardt/lift.htm http://home.earthlink.net/~mmc1919/venturi.html http://user.uni-frankfurt.de/~weltner/Mis6/mis6.html http://www.princeton.edu/~asmits/Bicycle_web/Bernoulli.html Step 4. The group will collect the information and present it in a 1-2 page report and discuss their findings to the other group members.
