Index of the Tithe Applotments of 1825.

Leddin's of Mungret, Co. Limerick

The Householders Index of the Tithe Applotments, shows that there were an unknown number of Leddin families, in Mungret, in 1822.

Michael Leddin of Barnakyle townland, Mungret (Limerick, Pubblebrien), is found in the Griffiths Valuations in 1844, as a tenant of Michael O'Dea. He was renting Lot 5i, which consisted of a house and garden (13 perches)

Michael Leddin (of Cully) married Margaret Connel / Collins, on 20th February, 1854, in Newport, Co Tipperary.

Leddin's of Kilnarath, Co Tipperary

There is one family mentioned in the Tithe Applotments of 1827. There are two households mentioned in the Griffiths Valuations of 1848, both being freehold.

Timothy Leddin is found in Kilnarath (Nenagh, Owney and Arra), in the Griffiths Valuation of 1848, as a freehold owner. He and a Michael Ryan, were owners of land estimated at 23acres, 1 rood and 28 perches.

John Leddin & Patrick Connors were freehold owners of land, estimated at 9 acres, 2 roods and 23 perches.

John Leddinwas also listed as a freehold owner of Lot 14, OF which was; 12 acres, 1 rood and 20 perches.


Leddin's Found In Other Listings


In Kiltenanlea (Limerick, Tulla Lower) townland, Co. Clare, there was one family found in both, the Tithe Applotment (1824) and Griffiths Valuation (1855). A Jeremiah Leddin, was listed as a tenant of Thomas Mulqueeny, and was renting a house. Only one family is found in Killokennedy (Limerick, Tulla Lower) townland, in the Tithe Applotment Book of 1825.

In Ardagh (Youghal, Imakilly), Co. Cork, there was one family found in the Tithe Applotment Book, of 1828 and Griffiths Valuations Book, of 1852. A Mary Leddin, who was a tenant of Lord Ponsonby, was renting land, which consisted of a house, land and office (stable or outhouse), estimated at 15 acres, 2 roods and 7 perches.

In Ardcanny (Rathkeale, Kenry), Co. Limerick, there was a family found in the Tithe Applotment Book of 1833.

In Kildimo (Croom / Rathkeale, Kenry) townland, Co. Limerick, there was another family found in the Tithe Books for 1825.

In Newtown (Limerick, Tulla Lower) townland, there is a Patrick Leddin, who is a tenant of Jeremiah Crowe. He was renting an office (shed or outbuilding).
