CLARIFYING LEASES

Stroud Shire Council.

October 24, 1933.

Correspondence was read from:-

Mines Dept. advising that Mining Lease Portion 11 of 2 acres, Parish of Bullahdelah, is held by the Australian Alum Co., Ltd. (in Liquidation) for a term of 20 years from 24 July 1931, the lease being still in force.

Stroud Shire Council.

November 17, 1933.

Land Board, East Maitland: -

" In reply to your enquiry of 8th August, I have to advise you that the area formerly leased by the Australian Alum Co., as special lease 97 / 6, Gloucester, is shown in accompanying helio. The area was 2a. 1rd. 5per.

The lease expired on 31 December 1912 and it is understood that subject area is now held under an occupation under the Mining Act.

With reference to your further enquiry as to the area leased by the Company for a wharf site at Bullahdelah, I have to inform you that as far as can be ascertained no land is at present leased by them at that center. An area of la. The company under special lease 91 / 2, formerly held Ord. 5per. Subject lease has now expired and the area is now included in reserve 38,612 from lease generally for a wharf. The control of this lease is vested in Council."

On the motion of Crs. Kesteven and Harris, it was decided to ask that an area be reserved for wharf purpose.
