What is the SOEP?

The SOE was the first training school ever run in YWAM! Our SOE has a pioneering emphasis, so we call it the SOE(P). From our present school for instance, we are planning to send a pioneer team to Coimbatore in south India. Our next school will begin in January 19, 2009 at our campus in Chennai, India.

SOE(P) is a general secondary course in YWAM and is open for all, not just for evangelists! The SOEP focuses on ministry development and calling. Our SOE(P) puts emphasis on the message and methods of world evangelism along with placement in pioneering efforts. Our graduates go on into a wide variety of ministries out of this school. Since 1996 we our students have pioneered nearly 20 different ministries.

The format is 12 weeks of Lectures and 8 weeks of outreach. For those who join a new pioneer team to launch out after the SOEP, there is a three week "Pioneer Phase" at the conclusion of the Outreach portion of the school. The course normally begin in January and July. The SOEP is run in English medium and sometimes has translation into Tamil or Hindi.

It is registered with YWAM's University of the Nations (Course numbers CCM 221, 222) in the college of Christian Ministries. Completion of a DTS is a requirement.

We have three aims of each SOE(P) we run:

To train people in evangelism through teaching and practical experience. To help people discover their gifts and calling.
To pioneer new ministries according to the vision of the students and staff.
To place long-term laborers on existing ministries.
