The e-Book interior consists of a small motherboard with several integrated circuits and control chips.  The largest chip is the Cirrus Logic EP7212 which they describe as a "High Performance, Low-Power System-on-Chip with LCD Controller and Digital Audio Interface (DAI)"  For more info check out the press release section of this site!   See also www.maverickaudio.com for more information.

The chip's CPU is the Arm 720T. The ARM72OT is a general purpose 32-bit microprocessor with an 8KB cache,  enlarged write buffer and a Memory Management Unit (MMU) combined in a single chip. The CPU within ARM720T is the ARM7TDMI. The ARM 720T is software compatible with the ARM processor family.

The Amtel 27LV512 chip is a "high performance, low power, low voltage 524,288 bit one-time programmable read only memory EEPROM" which is used as the recovery boot rom for the system.

The Samsung NAND Flash Memory chip  contains the RocketEngine™ real time operating system.  This chip "is a 8M (8,388,608) x 8bit NAND Flash Memory with a spare 256K (262,144) x 8bit" with a claimed 1,000,000 program/erase cycles.

The two chips labeled ISSI 50t are the two memory chips used by the REB 1100 for a total of eight megabytes of internal ram.

The chip labelled PD1USBD120 is a Phillips semiconductor USB interface contoller that is USB 1.1 compliant.

The battery pack is Lithium Ion based in a proprietary package, wrapped in black tape.  For more hardware infor check out this site:http://broken.blackroses.com/members/rbhack.
