It's been an interesting week, a busy week, one that's left me feeling a lot better since the last time I wrote. The move is in progress. Most everything in my apartment is boxed up, but I've still a lot of cleaning to do. Mom came up to visit for the weekend. Saturday we had a nice day out together, sightseeing along the river and shopping in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. On our return she helped me pack things from my kitchen while I loaded her car so I'd have that many fewer things to load into the truck I plan to rent this week. That night we ordered pizza and watched the last game of the World Series. She drove home Sunday afternoon.

My heart's been feeling better. Monday night I was watching tv when I heard my name being called from outside my window. It was Judy, on her way walking home from Scoreboard. She'd just learned that I was moving, and she stopped by in tears that I was leaving. She told me she loved me and how much she was going to miss me. Mind you, the absolute last thing I need in my life is someone who can sneak around once a month to be with me and never sleep with me after having sex... what I need is someone who can be with me any time she wants or any time I want. Plus, she's never been completely sober with me for a night, so I take it all with a grain of salt.

What's been better for my heart is a hit off match.com. I've entered into correspondence with this very pretty woman from Stevens Point. She is 40 years young, has never been married, is back in the States from a year studying dance in Indonesia, and has a PhD. I'm realistic... I know there's no way a woman that attractive and intelligent would fall for a guy in my situation once she learns of it... but for the time being it's nice to have the attention.
