I had a good Fourth of July weekend. I spent 26 glorious hours with my daughter, and had a great time with my family. Mom and Gabby came to pick me up after work Thursday night. Shelly picked Catherine up Friday morning. We spent Friday night at Kevin and Shelly's after seeing the fireworks on the lakefront in Kenosha. Mom and I took Catherine home Saturday night and had supper on the way back to her place. Sunday I boarded a train back home. I made it through the entire weekend without any of my immediate family know I'm behind on my rent or that my utilities have been shut off.

Being with them all raised my spirits some, and the effect has yet to wear off... of course it's only Tuesday. In addition, pleasant news came through the email. I had posted an ad on an online dating service about a month ago. One woman from Charles City, Iowa, seemed very compatible... but I realized I plan to move east soon and it may not work. Over the holiday weekend, I changed my ad stating I'd be moving to northeast Wisconsin this autumn, and this very attractive teacher from Green Bay was interested in me.

Indeed, there is light at the end of this tunnel. All I have to do is raise enough capital for the move.
