This site is dedicated to the traditional Chinese martial art (TCMA) of My Jong Law Horn and the legacy of the art as passed from the lineage of Sikung Yep Ye Ting (Yeh Yu Teng) through Master Raymond Wong* (Wong Kwok Jung). This art has its origins in the Tang dynasty (circa 600AD) and stylistically remains rooted in the so called Northern Shaolin school/family of TCMA. The martial heritage of My Jong Law Horn comes through Chang Hsien in the northern Chinese province of Hopei where Yep Ye Ting was born in 1892. In the early 1930's, Yep Ye Ting adopted some additional curriculum aspects into the art from the famed Shanghai Jing Wu Guan when he resided as a teacher there. Yep Ye Ting later propagated the art in Hong Kong in the mid 1930's through 1950's. By 1968, it eventually spread to the west coast of the USA through the efforts of one of Yep Ye Ting's most talented disciples, Sifu Raymond Wong. The lineage continues in the west via the efforts of Sifu Wong and his principle students. Certain terminology at this site remains romanized Cantonese while other terms are romanized Mandarin. This is due to the style's transmission from Northern China to Hong Kong. Generally, colloquial terms and names commonly utilized within the style remain Cantonese while some historical references are in romanized Mandarin. *Note that there are other sifus from different styles with the anglicized name of "Raymond Wong." However there is no relation between these other sifus and My Jong Law Horn Sifu Wong Kwok Jung. |
