U.S. Naval Experience

Due to my unique knowledge of U.S. embassies, I was assigned the principal liaison officer with the U.S. Embassy in Manama , Bahrain by the NCIS office in Manama during an active duty for training with the NCIS in October 2000. This was just after the USS Cole attack in Yemen . I interfaced with the RSO on force protection issues for the U.S. Naval Base, on the protection of the U.S. Ambassador's residence; counter-terrorist leads connected with the USS Cole bombing, and Emergency Action Planning. For service during this period I earned the Armed Forces Service Medal.

I was recalled to active duty in December 2002 due to my background as a counterintelligence and counterterrorist officer. I was assigned to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Regional Office San Diego as an Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection Officer. I completed a compendium on NCIS Boat Group Operations and conducted several counterterrorist investigations. I served in this capacity for nine months before being released from active duties at the end of July 2003. I received the Global War on Terrorism Medal.

I choose to be retired from the United States Naval Reserve (without pay) as a Commander (0-5) in January 2005 with over twenty year's active and reserve naval service.
