Mythalia

Mythalia... a paradise under siege... It was over 300 years ago that our forefathers settled this land... a ragtag band of refugees fleeing the wars. They found a lush and fertile paradise and settled here. Free of the old prejudices, they grew... they flourished... unopposed...

Then our enemies came - the orcs out of the Desolation, other evils from the Southern Wastes.

History

Over 300 years ago, our people first entered this land through the Strongwater Pass, lead by Farness Nitefire and fleeing the wars that had destroyed their homes. He brought us to these lands and founded Auldloche, the oldest town in Mythalia. Here, he caught a sudden illness and died.

It fell to his 5 sons to lead our people, but each had his own ideas and after a bitter arguement, led his supporters away: they founded the warlike Ostfort, the trade city of Velport, the industrial Kazan, the mining town of Dorwyn and our capital, Swynden, on the fertile mouth of the Strongwater River.

For a hundred years, our people flourished unopposed, but then the attacks began - orcs raided out of the Desolation and other evils appeared in the south. Emperor Haden responded in grand style, fortifying the Wyvern Peaks and commissioning the building of Haden's Wall, stretching for miles between the Black Coast in the West and the Oldlyn Peaks in the East.

Locked in on all sides, Mythalia nevertheless continued to flourish.

Information

Mythalia is inhabitated by hominids of all shapes and sizes. Its capital is Swynden, home of the Water Palace, the official residence of the emperors of Mythalia.
