On February 29th this year, the world went crazy with wedding fever, which prompted me to send a message to Mailbox. What I didn't know was that one message would change my life in so many wonderful ways...
It started with that one message.

I'd wanted to thank Hello, Newman somehow for all the times he'd cheered me up on Mailbox without even knowing it, and this seemed the perfect way. I was thrilled when Ed printed the message - and even happier when Hello, Newman accepted on the next update! Almost instantly the wedding seemed to catch the attention of Mailbox and every update had messages from people wanting in on the action - or threatening to hijack the event! And then Ed unwittingly played matchmaker by putting the two of us in touch for real. Within a month, the romance was no longer just on-screen.

The wedding was supposed to go out on Thursday 15th June. As the date approached we grew nervous as Ed hadn't told us what he was planning to do and finally, with days to go, it emerged that there was no plan. I spent a sleepless night trying to work out a way to make the Mailbox wedding an event to remember. Finally we came up with a plan and within two days, Hello Newman and I had put together a whole page of messages,
and narrative description, for the bulk of the wedding, and on the evening of Tuesday 13th June I got a file sent off to Ed, awaiting his approval.

The wedding was postponed until Friday, and then another day to Saturday, presumably for people to have the chance to send their wedding messages in. When Saturday came, I logged on late in the evening and found the wedding edition was up. I was delighted -
AND it was on the day England beat germany in Euro 2000! The wedding edition was hillarious - everyone's messages were so funny and I must have read it through five times that evening. More than anything, though, I was delighted to become Misty Miranda-Newman 2001

Back then, I had no way of knowing what the future held, or how happy I would be right now. The Mailbox wedding was a lovely rehersal for the future, and a day I will always remember so well. Here's my tribute to that day and that fantastic update. I hope you enjoy the show.....
