| Regional Happenings: Recently Upsilon Xi Chapter of Maple Woods Community College held their Awards Banquet Sunday April 25, 2004. This was my first opportunity to visit thier campus, and I was very excited about that. I was met at the door, by then President Jason Speights who made me feel very welcome. Jason was excited by having Kim Jarquio District Missouri Regional VP of Phi District, Sarah Eiker President Upsilon Kappa Chapter of Penn Valley Community College, and myself (Lois Robbins Missouri Regional VP of Communications) in attendance for thier chapter. The ceremony was quite nice, the awards were really fun to watch. The idea they used to award thier youth volunteers I had not seen before. I thought that was really so cool to honor them so formally for all the great work they had done with the chapter. Another idea was awarding the committees for all their hard work this past year. My congratulations to each and every winner!! After the awards were given out, the election of the new officers were held, and then they were inducted in. We said our goodbyes to the old officers Jason Speights President, Jose Vasquez Public Relations Secretary, Alana Martinek Recording Secretary, and Megan Shank Vice-President. Then we welcomed the new Upsilon Xi Officers, Sean Willis President, Shelly Denham Vice-President, Michael Edegbe Public Relations Secretary, Patricia Minton Recording Secretary and Sheila Madonia. The refreshments were served and the fellowship began. I wish to thank the new officers for taking the time to speak with me, and I look forward to getting to know each of them better throughout the coming year. Again thank you Upsilon Xi Chapter for inviting us! |

| Alpha Xi Chi Chapter of St. Charles Community College: Shawn Arbogast President shared the following information: Our chapter would like to thank everyone who traveled to attend our "Enjoying the Journey Together Ball." We had a good turn out for our first attempt and had a guest from as far away as Kansas. (Thanks Chris Engle-Kansas Regional Vice-President of the Northern District and Stephanie) We have also decided to make this an annual event, so everyone that could not make it this year will have the opportunity to do so next year. Thanks again to everyone for the cohesion in our region and for helping us expand our boundaries and fellowship with other Regins. |
