• Road transports

It is the main sources of noise. Road traffic has produced a high level of noise. It is because Hong Kong has the highest vehicles density in the world and tall buildings and narrow streets keep the noise from escaping. Also, buildings are very close to major roads and highways.

• Construction and industrial noise

Road drilling and piling operations can produce noise. Industrial noise is usually restricted inside or just around the factories

• Neighbourhood noise

Neighbourhood noise is noise from residential buildings and public places. Loud music, noise from dripping air conditioners and playing mah-jong, these are the examples of neighbourhood noise.

• Aircraft noise

In the past, the airport is closer to the city. So some people are deafened by the sound of aeroplanes as they take off and land.
