Hello! My name is Shelly Baker. In the fall of 2002, God placed the lost and dying world in a more profound way on my heart. My vision is to teach, preach, and mentor youth and young adults to evangelize the lost (the people who have not heard about the Lord). I believe that expanding their mentality to the desperate need of evangelism and a commitment to mentoring is a key role in reaching them. How do we expect the lost to be reached without meeting them where they are at? We need to GO TO the lands, cross the oceans, and walk the hillsides with them in order for them to see through our lives who Christ is. I believe that the best way to share the gospel of Christ is to show we care about them, establish meaningful relationships with them, and build a trust with them. By doing this, they will see a difference in our lives and want the same.
Short term, home and world, mission trips are tools that help the voyager recognize the incredible need to the unfortunate 13 billion people in the world that have not heard the gospel. They also open their minds of the implausible need to the people that have been left alone without proper follow up and mentorship after receiving the great news of Jesus Christ. It is my heart to broaden the prospective of youth and young adults to the true meaning of missions (instruct, disciple, serve) and the desperate demand to fulfill The Great Commission.
In Africa, India, Europe, the Ukraine, South America, or the US the need is great. Over the oceans, deserts, plains, and forest God Reigns. No mountain, tree, or tide will stop the spreading of God's word and I won't stop until I have done all that I can do for His glory.
