We've gained another free state but the South also got a slave state. Meanwhile we are still debating a lot, especially about California. It is hard for me to give in after the South keeps turing us down but I've got a plan. We'll have California, then Utah and New Mexico Territory will be able to vote free or slave. Brilliant isn't it? I love you and tell the govenor my idea.

We had to let Missouri join as a slave state, but we got Maine in exchange. More violence and arguments are breaking our between the North and the South. Just watching the slaves get whipped to work harder or a lot faster even made me cry. Did I tell you I'm the new senator of New York? I have to go, more land folk want to join so... I am one of the slaves thagt you may learn of. The ship that I am on now smell horrible. I am chained up with another black which is from another village and she is throwing up all over the place. One of the women across from me is in labor with a baby girl. There is blood and everything all over her and she smell horrible. She is in a lot of pain.

I feel disgusted about Lincoln being elected because he was against slavery. I still need slaves because I have a big plantation. My like will kind of be destroyed. I think the rest of the southerners will feel the same.

I feel kind of mad because the South could have stayed strong with the country and still had slavery instead of suceeding. I think Civil War is terrible. I think that every country should just get along and stop having wars!
