Florida Wildlife Preserves

When asked to come up with a final project for my Colloquium class with the environment in mind, I was not sure what I could do that would make an impact and educate people on Southwest Florida's wildlife. One thing that I have learned through out this experience is that most of the problems that face our environment today has been due to human's need to expand and grow as a population. Roads are being built in the middle of places where many species call home so that we are able to get to work faster or have better places to shop. In order to sustain our environment it is crucial that we have wildlife preserves that are being protected so that generations to come will know what a Florida Panther or a Manatee are. Through this site I hope my fellow classmates will be able to learn more about some of the wildlife that inhabits Florida and will become better educated in how we are trying to keep Florida beautiful.
