Garbage pick-up day is Friday morning.  Homeowners should bring their trash and recycle bins to the street curb Thursday night and retrieve them promptly.

FEMA 100-YEAR FLOOD ZONE
1. Is Mission Park within the FEMA's 100-year Flood Zone?
According to Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Letter of Map Revision to Mayor Judy Nadler date stamped March 29, 2001, Mission Park had been re-zoned to "Zone B", which means that Mission Park is considered as "Areas between limits of the 100-year flood and 500-year flood; or certain areas subject to 100-year flooding with average depths less than one (1) foot or where the contributing drainage area is less than one square mile; or areas protected by levees from the base flood.".  

2 .Are Mission Park Homeowners Required to Purchase Flood Insurance?
According to the
letter dated August 1, 2001, from Mackay & Somps to Citation Homes.  FEMA's Letter of Map Revision dated March 29, 2001 removes Mission Park (Tract 8815) from the Special Flood Hazard Area and eliminates the mandatory requirement to purchase flood insurance.

HOMEOWNERS BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ANNUAL MEEETINGS
1. Are Mission Park HOA Board of Directors paid for being Board members?
No.  All of the Board members are homeowners who volunteer their time and services to ensure that the financial and operational aspects of the homeowners association are maintained.   They work closely with a hired Property Management Company to ensure that all of the legal and fiscal requirements for Mission Park HOA are satisfied.

2. What are the requirements relating to Annual Meetings and Board of Directors Elections?

EARTHQUAKE PREPARENESS CHECKLIST
Once an earthquake strikes, it's too late to make emergency preparations.  Use this checklist as a starting point to ensuring you and your family are reeady when the time comes.

Before an Earthquake
Take protective measures to reduce the risk of personal injury and property damage before an earthquake strikes.
- Know the earthquake risk in your area.
- Properly secure pictures, mirrors, shelves, and light fixtures
- Properly secure televisions, computers, and stereo equipment
- Fasten tall, heavy furniture to wall studs and ensure these items aren't in a location where they could fall over and block a crucial exit
- Secure heavy, breakable items
- Store hazardous materials in a secure place
- Properly secure kitchen, laundry appliances and water heater

Keep copies of records in a waterproof, portable container (or place in a secure location such as a safety deposit box).
