| ARE LEADERS BORN OR DEVELOPED? |

The age old question continues to be asked �Are Leaders born or are they developed?� |
| Other theorists have identified numerous leadership traits that they believe can enhance the effectiveness of being a leader. There are numerous classes and courses around that can at least make you aware of these traits and help teach how to develop them. People with natural ability can learn to enhance their styles and traits, and excel at leadership by learning even more from the abundant research that has been done. |

| There is no clear demographic for effective leaders as they come from all lifestyles. With varying education levels, genders, races, ages, experience, and occupations it is difficult to determine where the skills come from. It is clear that there is no precise mould to being a leader but for those without leadership gene there is hope. |

| Leaders are developed however, certain traits can be considered favourable for leadership. Some well known efficient leaders do not necessarily possess all or any of these desired traits as described in Leadership Trait Theory. Thus, leadership can be learnt and is attainable to all. |
| Natural leadership does not mean that you are born with it, such as you have it or you don't. However, it does mean that you are willing to assess your style and behaviour, and that you are willing to learn and grow. Through effective learning and coaching, leaders can achieve their highest potential. Leaders of all levels need to enhance their natural talent with practice. But, without practice, the athlete or leader will fail. |
| Leaders are much like athletes, some have more natural talent than others. Some leaders are born, such as Mother Teresa, John Keynes, and Bruce Lee, who never had any formal leadership training, but managed to be exceptional leaders. Great leaders are born with character traits which give them natural ability and potential. |
