Documentation of the Development Process

The intent and purpose of this website is to attract new customers to this state-of-the-art, judgement-free facility. We feel that other gyms try to lure customers in with shiny equipment and low "join fees", just to jack up the price after a month. Our pricing is straightforward, our discounts are spelled out, and our staff bio page lets the consumer know exactly who they're working with. We created this page with the consumer in mind.

Defense of the Final Product

Simplicity is key when it comes to our gym website. Gym-goers don't want to waste time by clicking around for more time than what is needed. The reason behind the color was a simple one - People LOVE blue and green in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe it's all the greenery that we have here, mixed with the blue skies, or maybe it's just the undying love for the Seattle Seahawks. The site design is simple, with easy to read text to each link within the page. Each page has the same design, header, and color. The fonts used are unique, but not unreadable and crazy. The links are straightforward, and contain exactly what they're advertised to.

Opportunities for Improvement and Growth

A feature that I feel that I missed out on was a being able to schedule a personal trainer session on one of the pages. I would've liked for the end-user to pull up a calendar based on what times each particular staff member was working. End-users could schedule time-slots, cancel or change their appointments, and even schedule e-mail or text reminders to their smart phones in order to not miss appointments. I would've also liked to include step-by-step instuctional photos or videos for the customers to enjoy. This was not completed because I was unable to go to the gym due to the pandemic.
