The Weather forecast on our route
Cowes (Isle of Wight) 4 and 5 August 2001.
One week per year the Isle of Wight is extremely busy and that is during Cowes Week. During that week, the Solent is so full of sailing boats, small and big, that you can almost cross it by jumping from one boat on another. The view of bright coloured sails and spinnakers and the concentration that can be read from the faces of the sailors handling these sails makes this a very exciting place to be. By accident we happen to be here during the beginning of Cowes week and Jeroen is making pictures with the telelens. There is a good strong SW wind, force 5 or 6 that makes the matchracers and the spectators happy!
What is next?
As the weather is not yet too stable for our crossing to Spain, we may visit a few more places along the south coast before we cross.
