THE DECK GARDEN contd.

This weekend I tackled the
patio. First the MDF was grooved before it was given a
grey undercoat. The next day a final grey acrylic topcoat
was applied with a slightly darker colour painted into
the grooved lines.
The two back walls were undercoated to
seal the wood. Lastly I painted several sheets of
sandpaper brick colour. These will be cut up into the
bricks that wiill be glued onto the back walls.
14 - 19 January 2002
I painted the back walls with black acrylic to represent
the mortar between the bricks. Then, in many short
bursts, I attached bricks on to the back wall. Each row
has 20 sandpaper bricks, all glued on individually. So
far 17 rows have been done but there are many more left
to do.
