More Adventures on Skyline Blvd. (Hwy 35)


Yes, Minis are indeed small! The yellow Mini belongs to Jeremiah Whitaker.


My Mini-SS and Jeremiah's Mini stopped on a vista point off of Hwy 35.
On a clearer day, San Francisco would be visible from this angle.

On the first Sunday of 1998, Jeremiah and I decided to take our Minis out for a spin. He had just finished doing some work on his Yellow One, and wanted to break it in. His wife Candice went along with him, while his friend Bryan rode shotgun in mine. We went up Hwy 9 from Saratoga then took Hwy 35 all the way to Hwy 92. We drove moderately fast, but didn't push the car much because of wet pavement. There were even traces of snow near Hwy 84! As you can see in the pictures, there were some clear skies that day, but we were rudely greeted by some hail (or snow?) and rain near Hwy 92. Our Minis braved the elements just fine, though!
