My Trip to Japan, March 1998 (continued)



Here's a view looking west from Tokyo Bay Oasis toward Kawasaki, without zoom.
You can see how far out the man-made island and Kawasaki really are.

Once I got to Yamanaka Ko, I was really hoping to get a photo of Mount Fuji, highest
peak in Japan. Alas, you can see that there was quite a cloud cover on Fuji that day.


I knew I was getting close to Tokyo when I got stuck in this traffic jam near Makuhari.
The building you see in the center is SII (Seiko Instruments, Inc.).

This is what the neighborhood I grew up in looks like now. I'm looking westward
toward Kichijoji (in Musashino-shi). The bus that's crossing the intersection runs
the route that I used most often during my childhood days.
