| Your Body:- We have spent many years establishing the body into its current patterns of restriction. We should not expect to release it instantly. The muscles in the body need to undergo two different, complementary and essential processes. The first is to free them from physical tension. From the tension that is present as a result of injury or stress, and also the tension that is a result of under use. The second is to establish new patterns of muscular activity. Both these processes take time. Freedom in the body is not simply a matter of flexibility. It is a matter of absence of tension. Exercises may be challenging but not impossible. By knowing your body and not pushing yourself too hard too quickly, you will avoid injury and keep your motivation. Careful practise at home can enhance your class experience and maximise the benefits. However it is not competitive and you should always work at a level that suits you. Results will come with practise, time and patience. This class is great for anyone looking for a more gentle workout, stretch and relaxation. Its a great Mind and Body antidote to todays frenetic world. |
