Thank you. By Punishment of God 4/25/02
I was hoping for some response to this enduring and vexing moral dillemma, and you, Bravo, have risen to the challenge famously (and lengthily, I might add =) )

I'm very glad that you have found a group of honest people to associate yourself with. Most people aren't so lucky. I came from a msall town where "the streets are paved with misery and lives are built on lies" (I think that's from a Mark Chesnutt song. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know) While I believe that honesty is a virtue that is very necessary and should be practiced at all times, I still maintain that most of the people who tell you that they want honesty really don't. In the same vein that you should never trust anyone who says "Trust Me," I think that the people who say "Tell me the Truth" are the last people in the world who should be given the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. You have made some good points about being tactful with one's honesty. Unfortunately, tact was not a gift I was blessed with. I have been termed as "brusque","blunt", and other, more profane things. I happen to agree that, if you can't be honest in a relationship, you shouldn't be in it. But, you of all people should know that sometimes honesty will only hurt the other person in the relationship. As for not shouting from the rooftops, that's a good plan. I enjoy what little of this forum I've seen so far. So, I think that this will become the rooftop of the world that I sound my barbaric YAWP across.I was hoping for some response to this enduring and vexing moral dillemma, and you, Bravo, have risen to the challenge famously (and lengthily, I might add =) )
