| GIGS I'VE BEEN TO! |
| - 1987: Setember 6th, Melbourne Australia. SLIPPERY WHEN WET! For an 11 year old this was Mindblowing, 6 rows away from my then idols, who knew it'd still be that way in the new Millennium, well I did and Dad still owes me $5 and I quote "I bet you $5 that by the end of the year (1987) all those posters will be down" COUGH UP DAD!!!! - 1989: WE NEVER TALK ABOUT THIS TOUR EVER!!!! - 1993: Long time between drinx boys! October 8 & 9th, Melbourne Australia. KEEP THE FAITH! Pyro rules! I got the best photo of the "Prayer" pyro, you all know what I mean! I'll pop it on one day if I can figure out how to! Great shows and for some reason I missed the show on the 17th? WHY? - 1995: November 10th, Melbourne Australia. THESE DAYS! Outdoor show, Jon had the flu, but what a show, a few trax on the live album are from this gig! I was there, Yay! AGAIN! Why I didn't go to the 11th gig is beyond me! MILFTON! - 1997: October 20somethingth, Sydney Australia Jon Bon solo DESTINATION ANYWHERE, yay my first intersate trip to see a gig, it was cool!! He was bit moody on this trip, Yeah yeah yeah, then October 20somethingth, Melbourne Australia, same set almost, actually NOT, Jimmy Barnes came out in Sydney and he didn't play Wanted or Prayer! But got em in Melbourne thank Richie!! - 1998: Richie Sambora solo!!!! YEAH I'M SAYIN!!! Seriously could not have had a better week in my life, 4 gigs, 2 in Sydney, 2 in Melbourne, front row all 4, in the end he was askin what songs we wanted to hear!! You can read the story for my Lesson with God and the only reason we didn't go to the show in Adelaide was he announced it 2 days before he got here and we couldn't organise flights! To hear him play a verse and chorus of Ballad of Youth was amazing and he played Mr Bluesman just on an acoustic on the final night! Oh man, it's givin me goosebumps! -2001: March 24th Melbourne Australia, CRUSH, The Universal Appeal Concert. The boys only Australian appearance, they weren't gonna come, but came down and did this gig for free for the charity for flood victims. What a show, they hadn't played together for 4 months before this gig and of course you'd never know! We actually got a tip that they were doing soundcheck the night before so went to the stadium and heard a WHOLE gig, so got 2 shows in 2 nights! LONG STORIES here, they'll be up soon. -2001: July 27th and 28th NEW JERSEY USA GIANTS STADIUM! The Last 2 Wild Nights! I have absolutely nothing to say here except OH MY FUCKING GOD! Speachless until I can be bothered writing a review! - 2002: 18th September, Shepherds Bush Empire LONDON ENGLAND! I just kinda happened to WIN a radio competition here on MMM to fly to the UK and see the boys in a 2000 seat theatre! Yeah I know, tough one huh! NO! It was AMAZING! This is the first time I have ever been to a Jovi gig and heard NEW songs. It was prior to the release of BOUNCE! Richie gave me a wink too! He knows who I am! That rules!! Thanx MMM, so there you go folx, people do win radio competitions!!!! - 2002: 14th December, Sydney Australia SPEWBA, I mean RUMBA. We all hated the fact the the boys were playing at Rumba, a crappy pop festival, it was all for air play and promotion, but we still got there at 5am, gates opened at 11am, we got front barrier and stayed there until 10pm when the boys finished. I got interviewed by 2day FM and they gave me a copy of the set list. The boys put on one of the best shows I have seen in Sydney for a LONG TIME! To quote Jon "I'm Still here MOTHER FUCKERS!" How can you not love that band?! IT'S ALL ABOUT BON JOVI!!!!! |
| THEN THERE'S THE PRIVATE SHOWS!!!! |
- 1993: October 8th well actually 9th 1:30am Virgin Megastore, Melbourne Australia. The Bon Jovi Acoustic Busk. We sprinted there after the gig on the 8th and got there way int time. It was over 40 degrees in there and just insane. The boys rocked up late, it was live on radio and is actually on a bootleg around the traps. They did a Reggae version of Keep the Faith! This was too cool for school baby! At the end of the night I went to see if I could get a pick. Nope, nothin, as I turned around to leave with my head down, on the floor in front of me and I kid you not, in the rim of a crushed Pepsi can is a Richie Sambora guitar pick. Yay! - 1997: October 20somethingth Sydney Australia, Jon Bon solo, did an acoustic show in a hotel in Bondi. I got in by winning this on the radio. What ya had to do was ring the station, when they ansered you had to just start singing a Bon Jovi song, so one morning at 6am I'm heading into the city to meet a friend, on my mobile and I get thru. So imagine me on the street at 6am singing "Bad Name" Yep, pretty weird, but got in and it went off! - 1998: See My Richie story! YAY!!!! - 2001: 24th March, Melbourne Australia. Soundcheck and all the conversations we heard at the bar!!!! "I really like this new hat" JBJ "Yeah man it's a cool hat" Richie, "Yeah" all the other cronies with the band! Amazing! (PS: The hat is the one he wore at Giants, that floppy cowboy one, how he pulls it off has got me!) - 2002: 13th December, Sydney Australia. Darling Harbour as part of their RUMBA (Spewba) appearance, the boys did a free, yes FREE gig in the middle of Darling Harbour on a barge, we got there at 10am, got a good front possie and got sunburnt as all fuck! For the millionth time everyone, IT WAS NOT ME THAT SWAM OUT TO THEM! Geez! |
