Funeral Page 1
The funeral was at the Riverside Veteran's Memorial Cemetary on 18 December 2000 at 1315 (1:00 PM). It was a solemn time.. A time of reflection and paying final respects to a beloved man. As it is hard to say goodbye, we must also remember that Grandpa is in a much better place, with better company, and in a much better condition. He is now in the company of angels, his family that has preceeded him, and most of all with God. May the Lord enjoy what grandpa has to offer- Laughter and Joy... for another lost sheep has come home.

Veterans of Foreign Wars: America's Premier Veterans Organization
With a rich tradition rooted in the 19th century, the Veterans of Foreign Wars is today the oldest major veterans organization in America. Celebrating its centennial in 1999, it entered the 21st century with 1.9 million members. VFW's 9,500 Posts count members from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf and all the expeditionary campaigns through Bosnia.

Grandpa deserved every military right that could bestowed upon an individual. He served in World War II with distinction. He served his country proudly and now one of the utmost respects that the United States can pay is a soldier's burial.
Although the Flag Code does not specify a folding method, a tradition has developed over time. This method produces a triangular form like that of a three-corner hat and shows only the blue union. When the flag is used to cover a casket, it should be so placed that the union is at the head and over the left shoulder. The flag should not be lowered into the grave or allowed to touch the ground.
