Remember that God created everything, and everything is part of God. God, the spiritual side, is stronger, selfless, truthful, just, compassionate, and enduring. Satan, the physical side, is weaker, selfish, seductive, deceitful, and decays.

In life the conscience is clouded by selfishness and deceit. However, when we die, our conscience, our true self (or rather, the truth within us), takes total control. Everything we've ever thought or done comes to the surface, and we cannot hide from or sugarcoat any of it. Our own conscience, the God side of us, becomes our judge and jury.

God knows the path our life will take from beginning to end, but He does not control it. We are the rulers of our own fate. However, fate is a very peculiar thing. Although the past, present and future are a single moment and the outcomes are already determined, it is us who make (or made) all the decisions.

The debate over fate versus free will is irrelevant because we don't know what the future holds. Even if we were to somehow glimpse the future, whatever we choose to do or not to do about it is the way it was meant to be.

We're supposed to experience and enjoy life to the fullest, test the waters and make mistakes, grow spiritually and intellectually. This is the gift of life. This is the thing that matters.

God did not intend for us to be perfect, otherwise the universe would have no meaning. But we must be careful not to overindulge, for those who love their life too much will fear death because they don't want to lose their Earthly treasures. Sure, it's easier for the meek to enter Heaven, but only because they lead such empty lives they have nothing to lose in death. Some even look forward to death. What a sad statement that is.

Perhaps the Holy Bible said it best in Ecclesiastes 7:16-18: "Do not be overrighteous, neither be overwise. Why destroy yourself? Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool. Why die before your time? It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will follow them both."
