DEAR DFA SEC. ALBERT, USEC BRILLIANTES, AMB.
GUINOMLA, MINISTER DUMIA,
HEADS & WELFARE OFFICERS OF DOLE, POEA &
OWWA:
Warmest New Year's greetings of Love, Peace &
Social Justice!
We take this chance to congratulate the newly
posted Honorable DFA Secretary Albert. We hope
that under your command responsibility, you will
stand for the protection of our fundamental human
rights and welfare as migrant workers (with legal
status or undocumented). We trust that you will
all agree that public officials in the diplomatic
corps and related government offices must at all
times carry a pro-migrant orientation in providing
prompt service and safeguarding our interest.
Thus we write to you with deep concern about
the plight of the stranded migrant Filipinos in
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). We earnestly
hope that your good office will kindly extend
them the necessary documents (gratis) as soon
as possible for their safe repatriation back to
the Philippines. And to assist those who still
have pending labour and other legal cases.
We are also saddened by the despicable and wily
acts done against the "KAMI-SR 16" on
21 December 2003 and thereafter. We urge your
good office NOT to tolerate any irresponsible
act, abuse of power and character assassination
against any of the "KAMI-SR 16" and
migrant groups assisting them. As well as to encourage
your officers/staff (who performs their public
duties well) to continue their good service to
our compatriots.
In the spirit of the New Year and public service,
please heed the urgent appeal and legitimate demands
of the "KAMI-SR 16" and the rest of
our stranded compatriots in KSA.
Thanking you in anticipation
Respectfully,
THE COORDINATING COMMITTEE
MIGRANTE Macau SAR
