Quercetin is a naturally occurring flavonoid that has been shown to act as a powerful
scavenger of free radicals including superoxide anions and hydroxyl radicals. Additionally, quercetin inhibits LDL-cholesterol oxidation and reduces platelet aggregation.* Epidemiological studies have demonstrated a cardioprotective effect for quercetin and other flavonoids.*
Magnesium deficiency frequently occurs in persons with cardiovascular disease.* Thiazide and loop diuretics can further exacerbate the loss of magnesium. Persons taking potassium-sparing diuretics, however, may not need supplemental magnesium. Those with renal failure should not use magnesium at all. Vitamin E and selenium are essential nutrients for the endogenous antioxidant, glutathione peroxidase. Contraindications, adverse reactions, and interactions.
Persons taking potassium sparing diurectics or with renel failure should not use the white magnesium caplets.Side effects due to any of the ingredients in Cardio Norm are rare.
