| Mankind's Arrival | ||||||||||||||||
| 300 years ago, the course of Nok-Bokkian history was changed forever. In the early hours in the late summer, A loud rumbling noise unlike any other began to come from the distance. The sound was coming from a team of mechanical vehicles as tall as a tree. A group of people who called themselves "Mankind" emerged from the vehicles. We had never come in contact with an outside culture and welcomed them into our care. They responded hospitably at first, despite their ominous appearance. But that didn't last for long. They quickly began treating us as inferiors and ordering us around. It did not take long for us to realize that these so-called "humans" were not interested in befriending us, but enslaving us! The High Nok-Bok officials assembled an army, and the Shamans gathered all the Magical knowlege that they could. Then a mysterious warrior and tactician known only as "The Mighty One" developed a strategy for destroying the humans. A masterful combination of strategy, magic, and military wit saved the people of Nok-Bok from the human invasion. The Mighty One was able to convince the humans that we were of value to them and they apologized for their past behaviors and began to trade with us. The technology that the humans posessed fascinated us, and we wanted to have mastery over it. Moreover, it soon became evident to us that the Humans were disgustingly narrow minded, and did not know how to make the best use of the resourses that they had. If we could aquire their technology, we would have an edge over them. The possibility of trade did not worry us, because even if we gave them magical goods and exposed them to our culture, they would not learn integration or proper usage without our help. And so it was, that mankind helped the Nok-Bok civilization begin to aquire the technology and understanding that it has today! But this is not where the story ends... |
