A floating island nation know as Thul floated into our hemisphere and came to rest on the western mountain called "Mount Tom". They made contact with us and called us brothers. So together with the help of the Thulian nation we exiled the humans from our beautiful home. It was a time of great celebration! We felt liberated for the first time since the humans had arrived.
But unfortunately this feeling of freedom did not last long. We soon came to realize just how much we depended on the human's luxuries. Our primary source of power had left and we could not reproduce much of the machinery that we were so used to having around. King Thopax of the Thulians authorized his people to begin colonizing the region to our west. This upset some Nok-Bokkians because they had relatives living there. Thopax also displaced the Nok-Bok high officials, putting Thulians in their former positions of power. Although we welcomed Thul into our midst at first, it did not take long for the valley inhabitants to resent the ever tightening grip of Thul.
Eventually trade with the humans resumed. But the Thulian heirarchy would not allow the Nok-Bokkian merchants to trade as they saw fit. Thul also resented Nok-Bok for it's ready acceptance of technology. While our citizens were scrambling to compensate for the technological deficiencies that the humans had left, Thul did everything in it's power to rid us of technology alltogether. Something clearly had to be done...
100 years ago a man called Mikail appeared to our high counsil. He revealed himself to be the legendary "Mighty One" (Nok-Bok's hero who saved us from the human invasion). He explained that he came from a time warp to help us in our greatest times of need. And he was going to lead us to true independance!!! Mikail convinced the humans to aid us in a resistance force to push Thul out of our land. The nations of Thul and Nok-Bok signed a peace treaty. Thul agreed to give us complete independance and soverenty. In return, Nok-Bok agreed to honor Thul's posession of the western mountains and it's neighboring forests.
Mighty Mikail gave us independance, and helped Nok-Bok to make peace with the other inhabitants of the world. The city rejoiced and a national holiday was established. Nok-Bok was free!!!
