AMSND :: General

This is for those of you who actually know nothing about or just want to here my take on the plot of the manga/anime series InuYasha, which is drawn by Rumiko Takahashi and distributed by Viz.

Kagome Higurashi is a 15-year-old schoolgirl living at a history-filled Japanese shrine. After a chance fall into an abandoned well, Kagome meets the well-named "dog-demon" InuYasha, a half-human hybrid who longs to become all-demon. After bringing him to a heel just before he starts sharpening his claws on her, she finds herself right in the middle of a cliche battle of good and evil in Sengoku Jidai, or feudal Japan. Things start going off the well-beaten path as she meets a variety of companions such as the chibi fox-demon Shippou, the lecherous monk Miroku and oddly enough, a demon-slayer named Sango. But to accompany her new allies is a powerful host of enemies, including the amazingly enough half-demon himself Naraku and his deadly spawn, Kagura, Kanna and Haku. But there are those who walk on no particular side, no matter what people might peg them as. The two stars of this very site; the shrine-maiden Kikyou, InuYasha's one-time lover and Sesshoumaru, InuYasha's arrogant and extremely jealous half-brother, a full and respectable demon himself. This war wages on in the name of one thing, and one thing only: a wish-granting jewel known as the Shikon no Tama.
