Midsomer Murders first hit our screen's in 1997 with the pilot episode 'The Killings at Badgers Drift'. It won the best drama award for that year, and the maker's of the programme 'Bentley Productions' have gone on to film series after series - each epsidoe pulling in an average of 8 million viewers in the UK.
Based on the Inspector Barnaby Books by Caroline Graham they are filmed in beautiful English villages in and around the Buckinghamshire area.
As well as the usual mystery\suspense you would expect from this type of drama there is also a strong humorous undercurrent and the opposing traits of the two main characters all make for very enjoyable viewing.
So this is my small tribute to an excellent drama series.
