In the series premiere episode, Chris puts together a motley crew to take on a dangerous job, including his friend Buck, the town's ladies' man; an ex-priest, Josiah; Ezra, a con man; and JD, a young man eager for some excitement. Together, this group of unlikely heroes helps to protect an Indian village from the bad guys.

Vin is arrested and extradited to Texas for the murder he's accused of committing. Chris follows to free Vin and encounters an outlaw, Eli Joe, the man who framed Vin for the killing. Ezra finds his mother opening a hotel across the street from his new saloon, and Buck is informed he's about to become a father.

Don Paulo, a wealthy Mexican landowner arrives in town with his two men in search of Inez, a woman who dishonored him by stealing his horse, money, his face (she scarred him) and his honor. Buck comes to Inez's rescue, and has a showdown with Don Paulo using sabers.
13 Vendetta, Final Draft, August 25, 1998, 49 pages.
Chris's father-in-law, Hank Connolly, comes to town pursued by Sophia Nichols and her seven grown sons, all violent criminals. Hank is desperate because he has killed the youngest Nichols son and knows that his only hope lies with Chris. In the end there is a bloody shootout between the well-armed criminals and the good guys.

The Seven protect a wagon train when the settlers are threatened by a demanding gold-hunter who claims he owns the land. Chris, Vin, Buck, and Ezra ride to rescue a woman after she's kidnapped and held ransom. Vin falls in love with Charlotte, wife to the abusive wagon master and runs off with her.
