Chorale:
Chorale is LHS' varsity choir, comprised of 57 singers, mainly juniors and seniors. Admission is by audition only and participation in All-Region, All-State, and Solo and Ensemble are required. Chorale's concert season includes traditional concerts of "classic" choral music, a staged and choreographed Musical Revue, and an annual Renaissance Madrigal Dinner. Every other year, Chorale travels out-of-state or overseas on a concert tour. Last year, the Chorale performed at The Third Annual Linz Invitational Choral Festival. In the summer of 2002, Chorale toured Washington, D.C. and had the honor of performing in the White House for The President and First Lady. Previous tours have included The British Isles, New York City, and Austria/Germany.
Lee Singers:
Lee Singers is a group of around 40 Sophomore, Junior and Senior women. They sing a variety of styles, but focus on concert literature, and keep up a heavy performance schedule, including UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest and a Spring trip to MO Ranch. Members also are required to participate in All-Region and All-State. Lee Singers has also received many UIL "Sweepstakes" Awards.
Men's and Treble Choir:
The Men's and Treble Choir are a group of around 15 Sophomores and Juniors. They sing a variety of styles, but focus on concert literature, and perform several times througout the year, including UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest and sometimes a Spring trip to MO Ranch for the Men's Choir. Treble choir is a preparatory choir intended to prepare members to advance to Lee Singers in the Spring Semester. Members do not participate in All-Region and All-State unless they wish to and upon the director's discretion. The Men's Choir has also received many UIL "Sweepstakes" Awards in conjunction with teaming up with the men in CHorale to perform as a larger group of guys.
Freshman Mixed Choirs:
The Freshman Mixed Choirs is the name of the underclassmen treble and men choir at Lee Freshman High School. The 100+ men and ladies in the Freshman Mixed Choirs will focus on performance, sight-reading, and all-around improvement in choral music. They are involved in performances in the school and community, and participate in All-Region and All-State (if they wish too) and other competitions, such asa competion in the Spring at Sig Flags. The Freshman Choirs have also received many UIL "Sweepstakes" Awards. |
