-Updates- 8-26-06 A few minor changes have been made. Currently linking files to Soundtracks section. New sheet music are going to be added over the next few days. Graphic design is in its planning stages... if there are any suggestions, please e-mail the Midi Guru Team. Important: I have found that this site is best viewed in Opera Browser. The ads don't show [this site is currently hosted on Geocities]. Also, plug-ins don't seem to be as much hassle as in FireFox. I've already experimented with multiple browsers, and all tests were done with Internet Explorer 6. Version 7 of this popular browser is available in its 1st candidate release from Microsoft.~ Shinobi Zero 8-18-06 Massive uploads today. The Sheet Music also got sorted out, so there's no link to the 'unsorted section' at the moment. As for what's been uploaded, just take a peek at the Chat Boxes... that, or simply browse the links. There's still plenty to sort and upload... and plenty more to add to the list. So... if you have any requests, send an e-mail to [email protected], and we'll see about filling it out. ~ Shinobi Zero 8-18-06 Uploaded score for Pachelbel's Canon in D. Working on a lot more resources to add to the site's library in the near future. (Still need to get them off the blasted laptop!) Following my collegiate plunge I should become much more active in helping to admin the site. Enjoy and feel free to leave us requests for whatever you would like to see on the site. ~ Chiros Sunrider 8-17-06 Still uploading files. It's going to be a while before they are linked. MIDI section is subdivided into Artists and Soundtracks. Sheet Music section remains unsorted. Currently have all links pop-up in a new window to bypass a bug that prevents the user from using the 'back' command to return to the download links page. When this page gets full, an archived updates section will be added. The site is still a 'little' sparse... so graphics are going to be added. Fill free to submit ideas. Random graphics CAN be implemented. An actual MIDI encoding section may also be underway... along with more random background music. 'Till then... ~ Shinobi Zero 8-15-06 New files are uploaded. Currently being linked. The MIDI section will eventually be subdivided so as to make it less cluttered. Old links are subject to change. ~Shinobi Zero 8-14-06 A few files are uploaded. Obtained another gigabyte of filespace. Links are fixed... and code slightly cleaned up. Due to problems, the mirror site won't be up for a little bit. Background music code is still in its demo stage... so far, there are four random tunes. If you can't get them to play in your browser, you can view source... Aside from that, the tunes are only programed for this page: this feature may be extended to the other pages as well... Other plans: future sections may be added, based on content hosted or developed. Links to sites recommended by forum members may be added. ~Shinobi Zero 8-13-06 So far, the following are the plans for the site. Sheet Music: Sheet Music will be pictures archived in packets, and PDF format. MIDI: MIDIs will be available separated or in archives. They are to be sorted by work/series/composer. Misc. Stuffs: .NWC and other project files may be implemented. A link to respective sites, such as the Noteworthy Composer site, will be made. Incorporation of plug-ins may be considered. And as usual, original compositions, MIDI encodes, and recordings will be hosted, just like they were in the Yahoo! Music Groups posted below. ~Shinobi Zero

***************************************************************************** About The MIDI Guru: The MIDI Guru is the home of a music community, which includes musicians, composers, transcibers, and encoders. All of the works hosted were either found on the internet for the use of reference, or personally encoded by the team. None of the works hosted are copies of material protected by copyright. However, credit to the creators are to be observed. Current Teams featured: SandJ Transcriptions: This team started as a transposition team focused on broadening the variety of scores for various instruments: works were re-arranged from one instrument for another. After upgrading, this team now specializes in musical arrangement, and currently experimenting with recording and mixing their arrangements. Super Gardiner Bros.: This team worked in close conjunction with SandJ Transcriptions with musical transcription and arrangements. This team has also composed original works.
