The summer before my senior year in college, I wanted to buy my first camera. It was a major purchase and I wanted to get the best that I could afford. I decided to take a photography course. The instructor was fantastic. We worked strictly in black and white photography and the darkroom setup was first rate. As it turned out, my instructor had been a protege of Ansel Adams. After that course, I bought a Konica 35mm, SLR camera. My youngest daughter used that same camera in a photography course she took in high school. It was a good choice. When I was teaching junior high and again in senior high, I moderated camera clubs and set up dark rooms to introduce photography to my students. That Konica camera has taken many a slide and both black and white and color photos over the years. When digital photography began, once again I was able to integrate it into the classroom. I have owned three high quality and two professional quality digital cameras. In retirement, the opportunity presented itself to do some professional photography work. I have already done many weddings and look forward to more. |
