Directing: Cameron established himself as a special effects expert with films like these. Because of this, he is quite an extravagant spender. Action sequences are just as good as all his other achievements.

Acting: With the involvement of actors like Bill Paxton the level of acting from the original has dropped. More likely it is because Cameron never pays much attention to acting anyway. Think of Titanic, Terminator 2, and True Lies.

Writing: The standard of writing has also dropped from the original... Again, consider Titanic and T2.
