History:
Eldamri is
the son of Artemis, chief of the Aluran Wood Elves of
Deepwood Forest and Athelas, a dryad occupying the greatest
tree in their village. His early life was spent in constant
training to harness his great powers over the earth,
inherited form his mother, and learning how to fight and do
battle from his father. Ever since his
great-great-grandfather, Cor Eldemar, defeated the evil
Kaine, the art of battle has been an important, if not
overly indulged, part of Aluran culture.
Eld, as he
is commonly called, has always been a gentle soul with a
inquistive mind. He is curious of the world around him and
interested in all forms of magic, having grown up almost
exclusively around geomancy. He is slow to anger and, being
an elf, has a large capacity for patience. Eld is an
accomplished archer and swordsman, though he frowns upon
battle.
Of course,
his attitudes and beliefs underwent a drastic change after
his village, friends, and family were burned to ashes by
Malian Kaine and the warrior elves under his command.
Holding his dying mother in his arms, Eldamri carved a
dagger from her tree and dipped it in the blood of his
father, swearing to take revenge upon Kaine and any of his
minions who stand in his way.
Ever
since, Eldamri has wandered, following Kaine wherever he may
go. While he retains his calm, gentle demeanor, it is only a
mask over his dark, vengeful obsession with Kaine. While Kaine's death is something that will not be denied, Eld does
allow himself to seek joy in every day, and even allowed
himself to love Sasami, a half-elf who is the only one Eld
has left to care about and the one thing he will go to any
lengths to protect.
In the contemporary world, Eldamri is a college student who
was sent by his family to the United States to gain a
broader view of the world. He is often bemused by the world,
but is cool-headed and cheerful as he pursues his
education... when not spending his free time with his
girlfriend, another contemporary version of a fantasy
character. |

Commentary:
Eldamri was my first and, in my
opinion, greatest character I've ever made for a role-play.
His initial history was vague and underwent a drastic
recreation in July 2005. He was born from my love of elves
and, intially, was based on the Eldamari character from
Magic the Gathering. The fact that Eldamri is misspelled
version of Eldamari's name is all the two characters have in
common - otherwise, they are very different.
Eld used to live in the Dragon Forest for a while, and it
was there I met Sasami and her mun, Jenn. We were both about
the same age and got along well, so naturally Eld and Sammi
grew close, eventually getting together. Our rp skills were
clumsy back then, so their relationship was odd at times,
but it worked well and we both enjoyed ourselves. Jenn was
also the first friend I made over the internet, and I'm
proud to say I'm still in contact with her, and even now we
rp a revised version of our original Eld and Sammi plays.
Eld is a classic hero character with a tragic past, a blend
of everything I enjoy in a hero. He's kind and
compassionate, yet unafraid to fight when he has too and
capable of both great good and great evil. Of course I play
him in the role of good, though it's easy to see him sliding
into the darkness one day. And perhaps he may.
I enjoyed Eldamri so much that variations of him have
appeared in almost all my other roleplays. To me and a few
close friends, he is legendary, and I hope someday to write
his entire story and cement his place in fantasy fame.
Also, as a side note, I'd like to mention that Eldamri's
mother and farther, Athelas and Artemis respectfully, are
named after both mine and a friend on MSN I used to have
some years ago. In honor of our characters and their
relationship, I worked them into the storyline of Eldamri,
the greatest of my characters. |
