| Why then a nomad of the sea? Freedom to roam and freedom live. Freedom to see the world and experience life on the terms of the weather and the ocean. To see the peoples of the ocean, the other nomads that ply wind and wave for there souls. I search for my soul among the wind and the waves. I seek the answers to my being amongst its inhabitants. The shores line the world and the sea cleans my heart of weariness. I wish to see things and cultures that few have. I wish to truly explore the earth. Not as a tourist but as a global citizen. To some this sounds rather idealistic and impractical, it is not. To paraphrase "there are old mariners and dumb mariners; there are no old dumb mariners". This is a very real and well thought out expedition. In my ideal world a partner and lover would be a part of this. Someone to share the adventure. I realize that time is growing short for this as I have had others that would love me but could not embrace the idea of leaving the security of hearth and home. I respect their choices. However, I must follow my own path. My compass points to the horizon, to new lands. I must steer a course true to my own heart. I must navigate life with my own view of that horizon that has called me my entire life. I can go alone and I will if need be. Though the danger is quite real and more have climbed Everest than have solo-circumnavigated. Still it is my calling.
I would like to find those interested in at least participation if not a commitment to see this thru. I don't expect someone to just drop there lives and sail into the sunset, even if it is a nice thought. But it would be unwise of me to ignore the possibilities. Sincerely, Micheal |
