My World Travels
I would say I am an avid traveler. Since I turned 18 I've tried to get in one "independent" trip per year, such as my 2001 trip to Italy, 2002 trip to Ireland, and 2003 trip to Italy again but with a car.
I also have a master plan to drive to all 49 continental United States, including Alaska. In September of 2002 I completed the first attempt at making my way through the states with an 1800 mile drive through Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jeresey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvannia and Ohio - with a brief non-U.S. portion in Ontario. I have also independently gone to New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, closing out the Northeast. My next great leap will be to make it to Chicago, or Florida. I also have short term plans for roadtrips to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec.
Recent Travel: Spring Break Roadtrip
I recently went on a cross country roadtrip for spring break with Dave, Dustin, Jason, and Jay from Harvard. Our minivan trek from Las Vegas to Boston over 9 days took us to Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Louisianna, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennesse, Georgia, North Carolina, Virgina, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvannia, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Boston. We visited 13 national parks or monumnets on this trek. I have not yet seen any of the pictures.
Planned Travel
May/June 2003: Napoli, Roma, Firenze, Venezia (where I will finally speak Italian and shake my wrist with the family) and then onto Nice and Monaco for Porche racing (to watch) where I can either use my fake french - or the real elementary french I knew when I was 11.
Proposed Travel:
Iceland September 2003 with Matt and Liz?
South Africa with Steve?
Tanzania and Mt. Kilamanjaro with Liz (whenever we can save $2000) This must be done before I turn 30 (9 years and counting).
