September 6, 2003:

• This update is one day early! Here are the "Not Back To School" ships.

• Next Update: Unknown - you shouldn't expect one for a while as there won't be much Joshadan Galaxy stuff going on.

• There will be no update today, just so you know.

• I'm sorry about the delay.  A lot of things are on the go: homeschooling, an Atlantic Fringe Festival show, a movie project, and also some guitar lessons.
• I'm going to delay the SSDs I planned to publish today, as not all of them are finished, and I have a lot to do anyway.  Instead, here is my explanation for the "Not Back To School" ships:
• The designers of the Joshadan Galaxy project (myself, Josh, and Andrew) are all homeschoolers.  That is, we learn at home instead of going to school, which allows us greater freedom to learn at our own pace, learn things which are not in the public school curriculum, etc.  Anyway, I had the idea that I could release some new ships (to expand our options while playing the game) around the time when we start 'active learning' again in September, which is also when everyone else goes back to school.  (I recognise two types of learning, 'active' studying and 'passive' learning by experience.)  There is a "Not Back To School Picnic" for homeschoolers that goes on in our area this time of year, and the name came from there.  I hope this explanation is satisfactory.
• The SSDs will consist of one frigate for each race (except Lizmarainian and Maker).
• Next Update: Either Friday, September 5, OR Sunday, September 7.  (Note: All dates are tentative.)

• Two unusual new SSDs that I designed over the summer, but didn't get around to finalising until now:
• Kalkli (Errevin) Heavy Cruiser

The Kalkli are a nation on Natâra, the Errevin homeworld.  They build powerful, armoured ships.  (See the Race Overview of the Errevins for more information.)
• Errevin Stealth Cruiser (Lizmarainian Influence Universe)

The "Lizmarainian Influence Universe" is an alternate universe where the first race encountered by the Errevins was the Lizmarainians (Race #5).  The Errevins were sent reeling after meeting such a hostile race, and their exploration of the galaxy was reduced to merely sneaking around in ships such as this.  They never allied with the Joshadans as they did in the normal timeline.
• The SSD List, Counter Sheet, and Ship Reference have been updated.  (From now on, they will be updated whenever a new SSD is added.)
• Next Update: Probably September 3, 2003.  (For the Not Back To School SSDs -- I'll explain then.)

• Today is our Grand Opening! We present seven races, 17 SSDs (with a Counter Sheet!), and 15 pages of rules for this new universe.  (Don't worry, it's not too different from standard SFB.)  Feel free to browse around!
