| Our first meeting occured on November 3, 2000. After getting to know Heather for a year, I thought that she might be the kind of girl I'd want to date. On November 3, 2001 (exactly 1 year after we met) I called here and asked if I could take her out the following Saturday. She said yes, and so our first date was on Saturday, November 10, 2001. On that evening we went to three different places together. First we went and saw Monsters, Inc at Jamestown Mall. We had both been wanting to see it since it released. Afterwards the two of us went ice skating at the James J. Eagan Center. Originally that's all I had planned for us. The night was still young and I wanted to go to a place where we would be able to talk openly to each other. The last place I took her was to the Corner Coffee House. We stayed there for about 2 hours and talked about various topics we thought were important, which was everything from our relationship with Christ to what is important when it came to having a dating relationship. After dropping her off I realized that she was the kind of girl I'd been wanting to date throughout my entire dating life. I told myself that when I saw her the next day I would ask her out. On November 11, 2001 after Sunday evening service we walked to my car and I gave her a pink rose and asked if we could have a dating relationship. She said yes. On June 28, 2004 (Heather's 20th birthday) I gave Heather a scrapbook which I had been making her since the middle of 2002. On the last page of the scrapbook it asked her to marry me. We later got married on September 24, 2005. Below are links to a few pages on my website where you can see pictures of us, our philosopy on dating, things we've done or like to do for dates, and guidelines we set for our dating relationship. |
